RAS AL KHAIMAH // A man who died of a drug overdose was buried in the desert by his uncle, police said.

The body of the 27-year-old Emirati was found near a farm in Ras Al Khaimah five days after he went missing.

Col Abdullah Al Mankhas, director of CID at RAK Police, said the operations room received a tip-off that a man had been buried after overdosing on drugs.

The remains were located by sniffer dogs and those who buried him were detained.

The dead man’s uncle, 37, and friend, 23, confessed to prosecutors that they had taken drugs together in a car.

They admitted burying the victim but could not remember where as they were under the influence of narcotics.
