DUBAI // Two men impersonating police officers kidnapped, choked and raped a female accountant, the Criminal Court heard on Tuesday.
The court was told that on December 20 last year, Filipina L B, 31, was at a nightclub with her friends who were visiting from Oman at about 1am when she sat down next to Pakistani N N, 31, who she had met in the lift.
He told the Filipina, a job-seeking accountant, that he was a Belgian investor and new to the UAE.
“Later on that night we talked again and he told me that he could provide me with a job and invited me to his hotel room to have some drinks,” said L B.
“We took a cab that dropped us near his hotel and we started walking. We passed near a white bus parked there and all of a sudden he opened the bus door and pushed me inside it.
“Once inside he closed the door and slapped me on my face and said he was a detective and flashed an ID that I didn’t really see clearly, then I saw the other defendant [Pakistani A K, 27] sitting in the driver’s seat. He looked at me and told me he was working with Dubai Police before starting the bus and driving off.
“Afterwards N N started beating and choking me. He asked me if I was a prostitute and who was my pimp and if I have money. I responded that I’m not a prostitute and that I have Dh300.”
The woman said the men then took it in turns to rape her and, once they were done, they stole from her.
Emirati police officer A A, 27, testified: “The victim took a partial plate number of the bus and we were able to locate the bus and apprehend the defendants.
“They stole a golden ring and Dh300 from the victim and her Blackberry mobile phone.”
A forensic report showed that DNA samples matched one of the defendants.
The alleged attackers were not present in court to face charges of kidnap, rape, theft and impersonating a police officer.
The next hearing is on May 29.
