DUBAI // A 31-year-old driver videoed a woman while she was using the toilet at her home, a court heard.
Prosecutors said Indian MF, 31, sexually assaulted compatriot MS, 42, on December 29 last year by lurking near her bathroom window and taking videos.
In records MS said she noticed a light at the window fan at around midnight. “When I saw the torch, I panicked and screamed at the top of my lungs.”
Her husband, HH, 32, rushed to see what happened.
“My wife was hysterical, she told me that she saw a camera flash and that she thinks someone photographed her.”
HH ran outside their villa and saw MF near the window.
“I saw the defendant, he looked scared,” said the husband, who works as a driver.
HH told prosecutors that he confronted MF about taking pictures.
“He admitted to taking pictures of my wife and I asked him to hand me his mobile,” he continued.
MF told the husband that he had thrown it in a rubbish bin before going with HH to find it.
“There was a video of my wife lifting her dress and showing her legs. It also showed my wife lowering her underwear,” HH told prosecutors.
The husband called police and reported the incident.
A report said MF’s mobile phone contained a video of a woman in a bathroom. At the Dubai Criminal Court, he denied a charge of sexual assault and invasion of privacy.
A verdict will be delivered on May 18.
