DUBAI // Victims of domestic violence can request assistance using an updated Dubai Police app on their smartphones.

Brig Gen Mohammed Al Murr, the director of the general human rights department, said the app is important to help provide support and welfare for victims of abuse, especially women, children and special-needs people.

To request assistance, users only have to access the corresponding page via their smart devices and provide the required information specifying the type of assistance needed, the nature of the complaint, visa type, phone number and email, in addition to information about the abuser.

The sender then receives a confirmation message via SMS or email, along with an application number for follow-up queries.
