More than Dh30 million worth of knives and guns were purchased at Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, which ended on Saturday.
In total, 2,154 weapons were bought. “The facilities and services provided by the Security Committee have effectively contributed to the positive and effective marketing and procurement process, which led to an increase in arms sales,” said Col Hamid Al Afrit, head of weapons and explosives for Abu Dhabi Police and chairman of Adihex’s security committee.
Col Al Afrit also said those wanting to buy weapons had to first get a security clearance and good conduct report which was available to issue on site at ADIHEX this year.
