Cyclist killed in RAK road accident
The 31-year-old victim was cycling in Al Faisal Road when he was struck by an SUV
A cyclist died in a collision with a vehicle in Ras Al Khaimah on Friday.
The victim, 31, was cycling in Al Faisal Road at about 7.45pm when he was hit by a white SUV.
Captain Hamad Al Shehhi, of RAK police, said officers dispatched an ambulance and patrol cars to the scene.
“The cyclist was seriously hurt in the accident and died on the spot,” said Captain Al Shehhi.
“The body of the cyclist was transferred to hospital to be handed over to his parents to complete the burial ceremony.”
Brigadier General Ahmad Al Naqbi, of RAK’s traffic department, warned all motorists to take extra care while driving at night.
He also urged cyclists to wear high-visibility clothing and helmets.
