Guests at a Ministry of Interior majlis have called for increasing joint efforts between government authorities and members of the public to crack down on illegal residents.
At the Ramadan event, hosted in Al Ain, people also discussed the problems surrounding absconding maids and ways to stop beggars.
Methods that could be adopted to combat these issues include an increase in awareness campaigns, the audience heard.
The majlis took place on Monday evening.
