DUBAI // A man was killed and another seriously injured after falling from scaffolding yesterday in Diera, police said.
The two men were working at a construction site, reports said. The height from which they fell was not clear.
"We received a report at around 11am about an accident in a construction site in Diera, and we immediately deployed patrols to the site," an official from Dubai Police said today.
An Egyptian man died at the scene, while a co-worker from Bangladesh suffered serious injuries. He has been transferred to Rashid Hospital for treatment.
Primary findings suggest safety regulations were not followed, but a technical report by Dubai Municipality is under way to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
