DUBAI // A teacher accused of molesting a pupil was yesterday acquitted by the Criminal Court.

J?F, 39, from Egypt, insisted he was framed by the school’s principal.

“I had a dispute with the school’s principal and he decided to accuse me of breaching the modesty of the student,” said the teacher.

His lawyer said he was a deeply religious man who could not be guilty of such an act. “Even during his detention, more than three inmates converted to Islam because of him,” the lawyer said.

Prosecutors said that on April 18 this year, the teacher showed pornographic images on his laptop to a 14-year-old pupil, then grabbed her hand and forced her to touch him.

The girl told her mother, who told the school’s principal.

“When we confronted him he claimed he was having difficulty breathing and an ambulance was called, but rescuers who checked him said he was faking,” said the principal, A?J, 48, from the UK.

A prosecution report noted that no pornographic images were found on his laptop.
