DUBAI // A worker from Dubai International Airport has been arrested for stealing sweets from passengers' bags.
The 21-year-old Pakistani, MA, was not in Dubai Criminal Court this morning to face charges of robbery and attempted robbery.
The sweets were stolen between April 19 and 27 this year, prosecutors said. During the same period he attempted to steal food from other bags but, when he did not find any, he closed the bags and left.
MA was reported to police after a security officer at Emirates Airline spotted him on surveillance camera opening a traveller's bag. Prosecutors said he confessed to the charges during investigations.
A date for the next hearing is yet to be scheduled.
