DUBAI // A female tourist posed as a travel agent to con two other tourists out of Dh15,000 by promising them work visas, a court heard today.
Prosecutors said EE, a 38-year-old Filipina on a visit visa, forged her residency papers by stealing those of a travel company employee and replacing the photograph and name with her own.
The court heard that in October she used the forged papers to con two other visiting Filipinas - NM, a nanny, and LP, a saleswoman - into believing she was employed by the travel company. She allegedly took Dh15,000 from the women, promising to provide them with work visas and to help them find work in Dubai.
She denied the charges.
The next hearing will be on May 5.
