DUBAI // A 26-year-old Etisalat electrician was sentenced this morning to three months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman while installing internet service at her apartment.
Prosecutors said DA, from India, took advantage of being alone with the woman and touched her back and hand.
According to records, the victim, a 26-year-old housewife from Nepal, was having an internet connection installed about 10am on November 23, 2010.
She told prosecutors DA arrived at her flat about 10.30am and she allowed him inside.
After he finished, she said, he asked her to try to connect to a website using her personal laptop.
She said DA stood behind her and put his hand on top of hers, saying he wanted to show her how to control the mouse. He also touched her back, records show.
Records show she screamed at him, but when he asked her to sign the application, he touched her hand again. The woman
told prosecutors that she felt scared and waited outside for him to finish and leave.
She told her husband when he returned home from work, and he filed a report against DA at Rafaa Police Station.
A police officer, AA, said DA confessed to the charges and also said he had offered to unblock porn websites for the victim.
