A drunken security guard assaulted his female colleague before his friend threatened to kill her when she called police, a court heard.

The Pakistani woman was on her way to use the bathroom in a shared accommodation in Al Rashidiya, Dubai, when her compatriot allegedly launched his attack.

She told prosecutors the accused, 28, punched and choked her and tried to drag her into the bathroom, telling her he wanted to have sex.

A flatmate came to her aid and pulled the man away from her after being alerted by her screams.

“He was obviously heavily drunk, and punched me right under my left eye and while hitting me he kept saying he wanted to have sex,” said the woman in court records.

"After he was taken by police, his friend, who was also drunk, came to me and threatened to kill me because I called police and had his friend arrested," said the woman, whose age was not disclosed in records.
The drunken friend hurled insults at the woman and the flatmate who tried to help her, she said.

Fearing for her safety, she again called police, who returned to the address to arrest the second Pakistani man, 25.

The man launched another volley of abuse at police when they arrived at the scene.

“He cursed me and my colleagues and resisted arrest, then pushed us away as we tried to get him into the patrol car,” said a Dubai Police officer.

The 28-year-old defendant was charged with physical and sexual assault, with his fellow accused charged with resisting arrest, assaulting police officers and issuing threats and insults.

Both were also charged with consuming alcohol without a license.

Their pleas were made behind closed doors.

A verdict is due to be passed on May 28.
