ABU DHABI // Plans for 1,870 new homes across the country for Emirati widows and people with special needs have been given preliminary approval by the Government.
Following instructions from the President, Sheikh Khalifa, the President’s Initiatives Follow-up Committee has given the initial go-ahead to the proposal, reported the state news agency Wam yesterday.
Under the scheme, 477 men and women with special needs and 1,339 widows raising children will get the final approval for the homes once the required documents are submitted to the committee and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.
Ahmad Juma Al Za’abi, Chairman of the committee and Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, said it will strengthen social cohesion across the country, according to Wam.
