Indian Independence Day - finding a different angle

  • English
  • Arabic

Sitting today watching the wave of colour that is Indian independence Day, we at National View started to tire a little of the usual pomp and pageantry that comes with these events. There are only so many pictures of soldiers marching past politicians anybody wants to see, no matter how well they are shot. Of course it is always possible to find a different angle on the main stories and Roberto Schmidt of Agence France-Presse did just that with today's events. Focusing on the 'normal' people involved in the celebrations, his set of images give a much more personal view, a nice change from the usual protocol pictures.
