Sometimes it's hard for an image to be successful from both an abstract, artistic point of view and a journalistic one, but this picture by staff multimedia producer Deepthi Unnikrishnan is the best of both worlds. Shot while on assignment at the Louvre Abu Dhabi recently, the image succeeds artistically because of the lovely duality between the pattern of the worshippers in the lower half of the frame and the lights at the top half, all made soft and dreamy by the condensation on the window. From a storytelling point, the image is a wonderful encapsulation of Ramadan during the summer in the UAE.
