I'm not sure I remember looking into a folder of staff photography and seeing a detailed shot of the surface of the moon. Lee Hoagland was able to create this image by photographing into the eyepiece of a telescope while on assignment in Dubai. So often, the sky here holds an interesting vision of the moon, be it a "super moon" low on the horizon or a sliver of a crescent elegantly floating in the sky. This image holds the same power, being very basic yet offering so much detail and mystery.
