Ramadan went smoothly, Alhamdullillah, and the Eid holiday was great. It was wonderful to be surrounded by my loved ones during that time.
I was very glad to be home in Al Ain for more than just a weekend.
I got the chance to look after my house, and give it a refreshing make-over for Eid. I had bought four new chandeliers that ended up sitting for ages in the storage room. Those finally got put up, and now my home is aglow with a new light.
I also got a chance to clean out my wardrobe. I got rid of many items and found space for all my new stuff.
On another topic, I have said good bye to my twenties. My siblings threw me an early 30th-birthday surprise on the first day of Eid. My actual birthday fell on day one of work after the holidays. Which meant I had to begin my thirties in The National offices, unlike last year, when I was surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Seychelles.
I did have a fancy lunch break that day – my husband was sweet enough to pass by and take me to Zuma. I also received beautiful flowers and cake in the office that brought a smile to my face.
