SHARJAH // A three-day children’s art exhibition opened at Sharjah Mega Mall on Tuesday.
The exhibition is being organised by the department of children’s centres at the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs and runs between 10.30am and 1pm and 5pm to 7pm each day. Wafik Al Khatib, head of the exhibition’s organising committee, said the event was a first of its kind in the emirate.
Up to 75 artworks will be on display, including paintings, sculptures, pottery and photographs from children’s centres in the eastern and central regions of the emirate, Mr Al Khatib said.
“We want the parents to see with their own eyes what their children are capable of making, as well as help children showcase their talent.
“Our aim is to nurture the children’s creativity through artworks done by themselves.”
