DUBAI // A maintenance technician will spend a year in jail for molesting two young sisters while they played in their building.
The girl’s father, Saudi investor M A, 39, told Dubai Criminal Court that his wife called him on July 13 to tell him what had happened.
He went to the building’s recreation room but could not find the man so he visited the security office and demanded to see CCTV footage from the room, where the incident took place.
“I saw him forcing himself on the girls and chasing them as they ran away from him. He then kissed them and stuck his body to theirs each one at a time,” said the father.
His wife, S M, 38, from Belgium, said that the two girls, J and S, who are both under 10, came home in tears.
“They were crying really hard and when I asked what happened they told me they had been molested,” the mother said.
After watching the footage with her husband, S M said the technician, Pakistani S A, 34, was called in and he confessed that he had molested the girls and asked for forgiveness. The father then called police.
The Pakistani defendant confessed to a sexual assault charge in court last month.
He will be deported after serving his jail term.
