The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) from Abu Dhabi did so well in Dulwich College Beijing Rugby 10s Cup in China last year that they are sending two squads to the Under 13s tournament to defend their crown at the end of the month.
Last year, BSAK, coached by Lyn Jones, the former Wales international flanker, were unbeaten on their way to the final of the 10-a-side rugby union tournament, downing top schools such as Dulwich College, Shanghai.
They met Australian International School Hong Kong in the final, winning 17-9. That success has whetted the BSAK students' appetites so much that this year's tour was oversubscribed. Luckily, the hosts Dulwich College Beijing have allowed the Abu Dhabi school to enter two squads, meaning 23 students will travel to China on May 29.
To raise funds for new kit for the tour, students held a sponsored 7.5km run, around the Ladies Park in the capital.
