ABU DHABI // A series of postage stamps in Braille have been issued by Emirates Post Group to recognise and raise awareness of the daily challenges facing the blind.
For the first time, EPG has released the Braille stamps in recognition of White Cane Day, which falls on October 15 every year and celebrates the achievements made by the visually impaired and blind.
The commemorative stamps are available in a denominations of Dh3 and Dh7 and carry the slogan “UAE with you”, written in different languages, including Braille.
The stamps have been issued in coordination with Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired, and the Blind Printing Press, run by the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs.
