SHARJAH // A five-year-old boy died after his head got stuck in an lift at his father’s shop in Sharjah.
The police operations room received a call at around 3pm on Friday to report a child had suffered severe head injuries at a perfumes and watches store at the Gold Centre in Al Yarmouk.
An ambulance was sent to scene and took the child to Al Qassimi Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A team from the Criminal Investigation Department at Sharjah Police attended the scene to collect evidence. A case file was transferred to Al Gharb Police station, where investigation teams will determine if the lift meets safety requirements.
