BMW Group Middle East was trying to determine this weekend whether cars sold in the UAE will be affected by a recall involving about 350,000 BMW and Rolls-Royce vehicles worldwide.
The German firm announced yesterday it was recalling the vehicles to repair a braking-system fault. The move affects models built from 2002 until 2010. "We're clarifying whether any vehicles have been affected in the Middle East, and if any, our importers will contact customers directly," said Phil Horton, the managing director of BMW Group Middle East.
The recall covers these BMW models: 745i/Li, 750i/Li, and 760i/Li made between 2002 and 2008, Alpina B7 (2007-08); 645i and 650i (2004 -10); and 545i and 550i (2004-10). It also affects the Rolls-Royce Phantom models manufactured between 2003 and 2010.
