DUBAI // An umemployed man has been convicted of breaking into a villa and molesting the Filipina waitress who resided there.

The criminal court heard that on September 28 last year, Bangladeshi A M, 25, followed his victim to her house before assaulting her.

The waitress, A D, said: “He hugged me then started kissing me on the lips before I could manage to scream and ask for help.”

“He ran away as soon as I screamed.”

After reporting the incident to police, she was called to Bur Dubai police station on October 7 to identify her attacker.

Policeman A A, 38, testified that they had arrested A M for a separate incident. But as he matched the descriptions given by A D, when interrogated he confessed to the molestation.

“He said that he followed the woman then sneaked into her house before attacking her,” said A A.

A M was sentenced to six months in prison, followed by deportation.
