Dr Peter Heath, the chancellor of the American University of Sharjah, said the opening of UAE branch campuses by foreign universities is "a fascinating experiment", but the education they offer may not be relevant to the Middle East unless they adapt to the community. A string of foreign universities have already opened degree-awarding branches, and several more, including New York University, are scheduled to join them. Do you agree with what he has said?
