An extra 89 Emiratis signed up as Federal National Council candidates on the second day of registration, bringing the total to 218.
Of the 89, 25 were from Abu Dhabi, 23 from Dubai, 19 from Sharjah, nine from Ras Al Khaimah, eight from Ajman, three from Umm Al Qaiwain and two from Fujairah, announced the National Election Committee. Registration concludes tomorrow and a preliminary list of candidates will be announced Saturday. Objections will be considered from August 21 to 23.
The final list of candidates will be announced on August 28.
