Allah has swore by the benefit of the coming 10 days as they gather all types of worship, worshippers will be reminded today.
The first 10 days of the hijri month of “thu Al Hijja” is the month during which Haj occurs and therefore all main acts of worship exist within these holy days.
“It is the gathering of the mother of worship which are prayer, fasting, sadaqa [charity] and Haj. And this does not occur in any other time [during the year],” the sermon says.
It is a sunnah – an act that was done by the prophet and it is recommended that Muslims follow the trait to gain rewards and benefits – to fast the first 10 days of this month.
“There are no days in the year that are consecutive and great like the 10 days of thi al hijja,” says the sermon, “during which worshippers race to their lord to obey his order and to fulfill the call of their father Ibrahim for hajj ...”
“They glorify Allah’s legislated practices, they go around the bayt [kaaba] and go between the safa and the marwa, and stand on Arafat with ultilmate spirituality towards their creator.”
Good acts of worship give rise to a good life and an increase of rewards.
A verse in the Quran says: “Whosoever doeth right, whether male or female, and is a believer, him verily we shall quicken with good life, and We shall pay them a recompense in proportion to the best of what they used to do.”
Moreover, Allah bestows His love upon a good doer and the person becomes lovable by those around him.
The sermon recommends during these 10 days making sure to pray as part of a jama’a (group prayers) and to be there early.
“And to increase nawafel and midnight prayers.”
Prophet Mohammed stressed on the benefits of prostrating a lot, ie praying, as with each prostration Allah raises the person by a grade, and put away a sin.
