Date company Al Foah has paid farmers Dh195 million to market their dates from December 6-8, taking this year’s total to Dh327m.
Dhafer Al Ahbabi, chairman of Al Foah, said the sum was the third financial payment and the largest farmers have received since the start of the season, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
The payment has benefited 10,000 farmers who market Al Foah dates across the country, said Mr Al Ahbabi.
