Ajman residents evacuated after explosion

Blast was caused by a gas leak on the 17th floor of an apartment block.

There was an explosion in an apartment block in Ajman industrial area yesterday due to a gas leak on the 17th floor.

Civil defence evacuated the building and urged residents to regularly check their household gas cylinders.

There were no injuries, said police.
