The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage has published Banned Books, a general review of the history of censorship in western civilisation.
Translated from the Italian, the book examines freedom of expression and details the type of censorship writers face.
It covers publishing during the Inquisition and details the hold of the Catholic Church on publishing over the centuries.
The book was written by Mario Infelise, an Italian university professor and researcher teaching at the Universities of Milan and Venice.
