Al Ain make the cover of The National's Sport section for Thursday, September 28, 2016, after securing a 3-1 win over El Jaish in the first leg of their Asian Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.
Omar Abdulrahman, who El Jaish manager Sabri Lamouch described as the best player in Asia, was the architect of the 3-1 win, setting up Douglas's opener before hitting a sublime free kick to make it 2-0 midway through the first half.
The Qatari side made the Garden City club sweat when Sardor Rashidov converted a penalty seven minutes into the second half but Caio ensured Al Ain will go into the return leg in Doha on October 18 with a two-goal cushion when he took advantage of a goalkeeper error to hammer home a third on the stroke of full time.
