Al Ain hosted Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for the second leg of their semi-final tie on Tuesday night and, needing to overcome a 3-0 deficit, they got some of the way there – just not enough.
After Hilal levelled at 1-1 in the second half and effectively put the match out of reach, emotions ran high and Asamoah Gyan, Al Ain's star striker, got into a an argument with Hilal's Romanian midfielder Mihai Pintilii which ended in a red.
“I lost my head a bit, but life goes on,” Gyan said.
