UAE down by eight places in Fifa's latest ranking list headed by Spain

The UAE national football team has slipped eight places to 138 in the latest rankings released by the world governing body.

Retaining the first spot on Fifa's mainly unchanged top order are world and European champions Spain. day.

The top 10 places remained the same after just 11 international matches were played last month.

The Netherlands was second, ahead of Germany, South American champions Uruguay and England. Brazil, Portugal, Croatia, Italy and Argentina completed the elite places.

Chile traded places with Russia to move upto No 12 while Switzerland and Sweden rose one place each at the cost of Ivory Coast. The golden generation Elephants are the favourites to win the African Cup of Nations that starts Wednesday.
