David Ferrer will appear before fans at Yas Mall ahead of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi, organisers for the announced on Sunday.
Ferrer is one of the six tennis stars in town for the pre-season exhibition, which starts on Thursday at Zayed Sports City. It was announed he will be hosting an autograph session at Yas Mall from 12.45pm on Wednesday.

World No 7 Ferrer arrives in the UAE capital after a strong 2015 season that saw him win five titles, his most on the ATP Tour since 2012. Ferrer was victorious in Vienna, Kuala Lumpur, Acapulco, Rio de Janeiro and Doha, and will be looking to use the Abu Dhabi warm-up event to tone his form for Australian Open contention.
“I’m really looking forward to getting to Abu Dhabi and checking out some of the sights before the tournament,” Ferrer said in a release. “I have been out a number of times before so I know what ot expect and it’s all positive.
“The reception from the crowds is always fantastic, the playing conditions are incredible and the overall atmosphere is one of celebration, so it’s going to be al ot of fun.”
Ferrer has twice played in the Abu Dhabi final, losing to Novak Djokovic both in the fourth and sixth stagings of the tournament. He arrives at the eighth annual tournament this week for his fifth appearance here.
“The great thing about Abu Dhabi are the sports fans who always make me feel very welcome,” Ferrer said. “I’m looking forward to meeting them at Yas Mall ... I hope there will be a lot of Spanish flags to support me.”
Ferrer is joined in this year’s Mubadala field by Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka, Kevin Anderson, Milos Raonic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. He plays in the quarter-final on Thursday against Tsonga, with a chance to meet Nadal in the semi-final on Friday.
