Robinho showed why Manchester City broke the British transfer record to bring him to England when he scored two goals and made another in Brazil's 4-0 win over Venezuela. The Brazilian's double in Sunday's 4-0 win in San Cristobal kept his side on course for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

"When we play away in the World Cup qualifiers, the whole country unites to try to make things as difficult as possible for Brazil," he said, revealing his country's flag was also burned at the stadium and their national anthem jeered.
