Rana Naved, the pace bowler, has demanded a central contract from the Pakistan Cricket Board before he severs ties with the unauthorised Indian Cricket League. Naved, along with ICL team-mates Abdur Razzak and Imran Nazir, had been named by chief selector Abdul Qadir in a preliminary squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in England. However, an embarrassed PCB withdrew the trio from the team a day later and named three other players to take their place on the 30-man list. Naved now admits he is keen to play international cricket, but wants financial guarantees from the PCB before he turns his back on the ICL.
