ABU DHABI // Al Jazira have made their worst start to a season for six years, after picking up just seven points from their first five games, but the nature of their 2-2 draw with Al Ain in the UAE Pro League on Monday has given coach Paulo Bonamigo reason for optimism.

Jazira were 2-0 down at home with half an hour to go before a fine comeback saw them earn a point. "We can take a lot of positives from this game, particularly our performance in the second half," said the Brazilian.

Jazira's performance improved after the Argentine midfielder Matias Delgado's was introduced in the second half.

"Delgado was responsible for the big change in the second half," Bonamigo said. "He came to the midfield and started to have better quality moves and create the offensive play.

"Subait [Khater], [Ibrahim] Diaky and Delgado were responsible for the moves from which we scored the two goals. This is an excellent platform to build on for our next game.

"We are still in the beginning of the season and all teams are facing the same problems."

"We can see some improvement in Jazira and are looking forward to some good results in the coming games."
