DeAngelo Williams' late touchdown helped the Carolina Panthers take a huge step towards securing a play-off spot as they defeated the Green Bay Packers 35-31.
His fourth score of the game came 90 seconds from the end of the game gave the triumph and keeps the Panthers (9-3) tied with Tampa Bay atop the NFC South.
The Panthers had led by 11 points at the break, but Green Bay hit back in the second half, taking the lead with Greg Jennings' score. But the Panthers held their nerve to hit back.
The Pittsburgh Steelers (9-3) maintained their one-game lead in the AFC North as Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes to guide them to a 33-10 victory over the New England Patriots.
Jeff Reed kicked four field goals as the Steelers scored 30 unanswered points, aided by three third-quarter turnovers.
Jay Cutler threw for 357 yards and two touchdowns and rookie Peyton Hillis ran for 129 yards and a score to lead the Denver Broncos to a 34-17 victory over the New York Jets.
Gus Frerotte threw a 99-yard touchdown pass to Bernard Berrian and also rushed for a score as the Minnesota Vikings claimed sole possession of first place in the NFC North with a 34-14 triumph over the Chicago Bears.
