SILVERSTONE // Rubens Barrichello says he will not be following David Coulthard into Formula One retirement just yet. The Brazilian put on a superb show in his Honda to claim third spot in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone yesterday. Barrichello, 36, is likely to be the oldest driver on the circuit next season after Coulthard's exit. But after showing yet again how he can master a wet track, the 15-year F1 veteran said: "I have no intention to retire. There are no contracts signed, but I would like to stay at Honda. I love racing more than I ever did. It's fantastic to finish third. I've never lost the belief I have in me.
"I have this great feeling; it's like I'm young. It was obviously a lucky day with the weather, but I love the wet weather conditions. "It wasn't like that in my first race in karting, but I worked on it and then became a master. I love the wet and it was a perfect race for us." For Coulthard it was a disappointing day in front of his home fans. The Scot suffered misery in his final grand prix on home soil as he will quit at the end of the season. His Red Bull slid into the gravel after a collision with Sebastian Vettel on the opening lap at Priory corner.
"The visibility was incredibly bad as you can imagine," said Coulthard. "There was a clear gap down the inside, but unfortunately it was closing as I made the move. I'm sorry for Sebastian that we made contact and went into the gravel. I am extremely disappointed for this to happen at my last British Grand Prix." The BMW Sauber Robert Kubica spun out and he said: "It was a crazy race in difficult conditions."

Normcore explained
Something of a fashion anomaly, normcore is essentially a celebration of the unremarkable. The term was first popularised by an article in New York magazine in 2014 and has been dubbed “ugly”, “bland’ and "anti-style" by fashion writers. Embraced by fashion-forward street-style stars around the globe, it’s uptake in the UAE has been relatively slow.

Sharrie Williams
The American singer is hugely respected in blues circles due to her passionate vocals and songwriting. Born and raised in Michigan, Williams began recording and touring as a teenage gospel singer. Her career took off with the blues band The Wiseguys. Such was the acclaim of their live shows that they toured throughout Europe and in Africa. As a solo artist, Williams has also collaborated with the likes of the late Dizzy Gillespie, Van Morrison and Mavis Staples.
Lin Rountree
An accomplished smooth jazz artist who blends his chilled approach with R‘n’B. Trained at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, Rountree formed his own band in 2004. He has also recorded with the likes of Kem, Dwele and Conya Doss. He comes to Dubai on the back of his new single Pass The Groove, from his forthcoming 2018 album Stronger Still, which may follow his five previous solo albums in cracking the top 10 of the US jazz charts.
Anita Williams
Dubai-based singer Anita Williams will open the night with a set of covers and swing, jazz and blues standards that made her an in-demand singer across the emirate. The Irish singer has been performing in Dubai since 2008 at venues such as MusicHall and Voda Bar. Her Jazz Garden appearance is career highlight as she will use the event to perform the original song Big Blue Eyes, the single from her debut solo album, due for release soon.
