Numerous instances of NFL players getting in trouble with the law

Three dozen NFL players have been arrested since the Super Bowl, and Mike Tierney looks at five of them.

Aaron Hernandez, the third NFL player since last December to be implicated in another person's death, is the most prominent of about three dozen players arrested since the Super Bowl. Here's a look at five others.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Ausur Walcott was charged with attempted murder for allegedly punching a man outside a bar. The Browns waived the undrafted rookie, who previously was charged with assault and battery from a fight in college. Those charges were dropped. No team has picked him up.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested four times within two weeks in May for suspected driving under the influence, trespassing while trying to retrieve his car from a tow yard, breaking into a home and burglary of a convenience store. He also was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. The Lions waived him before the arrests and no team has picked him up.

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington, a Pro Bowler last season, was charged with domestic violence against a former girlfriend. Suspended for four games for violating the substance-abuse policy, he could sit out more if found guilty.

New York Jets running back Mike Goodson was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a loaded gun and hollow-point ammunition. He had become ill while riding in a car and the driver called police, who arrested Goodson. He was suspended for four games.

Detroit linebacker Amari Spievey was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a youngster resulting from a child support dispute with his girlfriend. Charges were dismissed after he completed a court-ordered family violence education programme, and the couple reportedly are back together. He remains with the Lions.
