Liverpool's owners will not be rushed into selling the club and will review the undisclosed number of bids, Christian Purslow, the managing director tasked with finding a buyer for the Merseysiders, said yesterday. The financially troubled club was put up for sale by Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr in April, but Purslow said that none of the prospective bidders had yet provided proof of funding. "We have had a number of bids for the club. We will take time to examine those extremely carefully," Purslow told BBC radio. "Second to that is [the need] to sell the club as soon as possible ... I am not going to put a time limit on it. The challenge now is to sort the wheat from the chaff."
