Monday's list: Hat-trick heroes

Sohag Gazi had quite the Test for Bangladesh against New Zealand, delivering his first century on Saturday and then on Sunday becoming only the second Bangladeshi to claim a hat-trick.

Gazi dismissed Corey Anderson, BJ Watling and Doug Bracewell in successive balls for the 40th treble in Test cricket history. In lieu of his feat, here are the last five men with a hat-trick before Gazi.

1. Stuart Broad, England: The fast bowler turned around the second Test at Trent Bridge in July 2011 against India as he had MS Dhoni caught, Harbhajan Singh trapped leg before wicket and then Praveen Kumar bowled to set up an English victory.

2. Peter Siddle, Australia: Siddle's effort came on the first day of the first Ashes Test in Brisbane in 2010 as he had Alastair Cook caught, bowled Matt Prior and then sparked the celebrations by having Broad leg before.

3. Ryan Sidebottom, England: The Yorkshireman's heroics helped England to victory in the second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton. He had Stephen Fleming and Matthew Sinclair caught with his first two balls before Jacob Oram fell leg before with the third.

4. Irfan Pathan, India: Games between India and Pakistan are always tense and Pathan's quick-fire treble quietened the home fans in Karachi in January 2006. Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf were his victims.

5. James Franklin, New Zealand: Bangladesh found life tough after becoming a Test-playing nation in 2000, and Franklin heaped on the misery in October 2004 when he had Manjural Rana and Mohammad Rafique caught before bowling Tapash Baisya in Dhaka.
