Al Jazira players celebrate on The National Sport front page on Monday, May 30 after defeating Al Ain on penalties to clinch the President's Cup.
After the scores finished 1-1 after 90 minutes courtesy of Douglas’s equaliser for Al Ain cancelling out Ali Mabkhout’s opener, and with no extra-time, the match was decided on a shootout.
Al Ain defender Mohanad Salem struck the woodwork to hand Jazira a 6-5 shootout win, and with it victory in the UAE’s premier cup competition.

Post-match, Jazira manager Henk ten Cate, whose temporary contract is set to expire, said he and the club are "speaking" about a new, longer term deal.
The Dutchman took over from Abel Braga earlier in the season with Jazira languishing near the Arabian Gulf League relegation zone. Since his arrival, Jazira finished seventh in the table and secured the President’s Cup.
