AC Milan's dreadful start to the Serie A season has lead to the vice-president Adriano Galliani giving coach Carlo Ancelotti a vote of confidence after just two games.
The Rossoneri slumped to a second successive Serie A defeat, a 2-0 defeat at Genoa, leaving them second-bottom in the table.
New signings Ronaldinho and Andriy Shevchenko both only managed a half for the seven-time European champions.
Despite the poor results Galliani was adamant the club, whowas not considering a change of coach.
"Ancelotti will remain the coach of AC Milan," he said.
"I will not say it again and not because I will change my mind about this but rather because it becomes repetitive.
The Rossoneri will have little time to rest as they begin their UEFA Cup campaign on Thursday when they host FC Zurich, before welcoming early Serie A leaders Lazio to the San Siro three days later. Despite the setback Ancelotti vowed to continue doing things his way.
"To be honest, I am not interested in what is being written," he said. "It is the same situation now as it has been in the past and I feel the club is still very close to me.
"Of course I am sorry for what is happening, but I will keep doing it my way."
Ancelotti may be able to lay some of the blame for his current predicament with his ageing players, but his city rival Jose Mourinho only has himself to blame for his current bother.
The Inter Milan coach, just two games into his Serie A career, has already rattled little Catania who have accused him of showing a "lack of respect" after comments he made following the Milan club's 2-1 victory on Saturday.
The Portuguese boss was quoted as saying afterwards his side "deserved to win 5-1".
Mourinho also claimed that "had I played in goal in place of [Inter keeper] Julio Cesar, nothing would have changed"..
"Someone who says something like that has no respect for his opponents, nor for the coaches or the nation that accommodate him," the Sicilian club's administrator Pietro Lo Monaco said.
"Mourinho is one that simply should keep his mouth shut. He could have easily avoided saying what he said.
"Mourinho should stop being this chatterbox and should think of his own problems, how much he and his team cost the club.
"I hope he wins because if he doesn't, he should take his beautiful suitcase and go back to his own country."
Meanwhile, the Juventus striker Amauri has revealed he would jump at the chance to play for Italy under Marcello Lippi.
The Brazilian-born player, who gave his side a 1-0 win over Udinese on Sunday, is waiting to be granted Italian citizenship having played his whole career in the country.
Amauri said: "If today I had the Italian passport in my hand and Lippi called me up, I would go there without hesitation."

Tips for used car buyers
- Choose cars with GCC specifications
- Get a service history for cars less than five years old
- Don’t go cheap on the inspection
- Check for oil leaks
- Do a Google search on the standard problems for your car model
- Do your due diligence. Get a transfer of ownership done at an official RTA centre
- Check the vehicle’s condition. You don’t want to buy a car that’s a good deal but ends up costing you Dh10,000 in repairs every month
- Validate warranty and service contracts with the relevant agency and and make sure they are valid when ownership is transferred
- If you are planning to sell the car soon, buy one with a good resale value. The two most popular cars in the UAE are black or white in colour and other colours are harder to sell

Chef Nobu's advice for eating sushi
“One mistake people always make is adding extra wasabi. There is no need for this, because it should already be there between the rice and the fish.
“When eating nigiri, you must dip the fish – not the rice – in soy sauce, otherwise the rice will collapse. Also, don’t use too much soy sauce or it will make you thirsty. For sushi rolls, dip a little of the rice-covered roll lightly in soy sauce and eat in one bite.
“Chopsticks are acceptable, but really, I recommend using your fingers for sushi. Do use chopsticks for sashimi, though.
“The ginger should be eaten separately as a palette cleanser and used to clear the mouth when switching between different pieces of fish.”

'Worse than a prison sentence'
Marie Byrne, a counsellor who volunteers at the UAE government's mental health crisis helpline, said the ordeal the crew had been through would take time to overcome.
“It was worse than a prison sentence, where at least someone can deal with a set amount of time incarcerated," she said.
“They were living in perpetual mystery as to how their futures would pan out, and what that would be.
“Because of coronavirus, the world is very different now to the one they left, that will also have an impact.
“It will not fully register until they are on dry land. Some have not seen their young children grow up while others will have to rebuild relationships.
“It will be a challenge mentally, and to find other work to support their families as they have been out of circulation for so long. Hopefully they will get the care they need when they get home.”
