Miami Dolphin's Brandon Marshall to recover from stabbing



Brandon Marshall, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver, is expected to make a full recovery after he was stabbed and his wife who was arrested for assault. It was reported that Marshall had been stabbed in the stomach by a woman on Friday evening and taken to Broward General Hospital where he was treated in an intensive care unit.

Westwood opens up five-shot lead

Lee Westwood takes a commanding five-shot lead into the final round of the Indonesian Masters today after shooting a second straight six-under 66 yesterday. Westwood started with three straight birdies before dropping a shot on the fourth. He added five more birdies to his round before faltering on the par five 18th - which he had birdied in the last two rounds - for a 16-under total of 200. Westwood will be celebrating his 38th birthday today.

Colsaerts springs surprise at China

Little-known Nicolas Colsaerts was on track for his first European Tour title after the China Open third round yesterday while former world No 2 Sergio Garcia slipped out of contention for honours. Garcia, chasing his first victory since 2009, could only manage a 72 and was seven shots off the pace. Colsaerts shot a six-under-par 66.

Italy choose not to keep Mallett on

Nick Mallett will not have his contract as Italycoach renewed when it expires after Italy's participation in the Rugby World Cup in September and October. Mallett was informed of the decision following a meeting of the Italian Rugby Federation's (FIR) council yesterday. The South African has coached the side since 2007.
