An unplayable spell from Lasith Malinga launched the Mumbai Indians to a winning start in this season's Indian Premier League against the Delhi Daredevils.
Malinga's five for 13 represented the third-best figures in IPL history, while Delhi's 95 all out was the lowest total in the competition on this ground. Sachin Tendulkar, the Mumbai captain, then anchored an untroubled chase, victory secured by eight wickets with 19 balls to spare.
Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag hoisted his second ball over bowler Harbhajan Singh's head for six but Malinga responded by bowling Sehwag's opening partner David Warner for one with a trademark yorker and cleaning up debutant Unmukt Chand two balls later.

Tendulkar ran out Sehwag for 19 and Aaron Finch quickly followed before Naman Ojha and Venugopal Rao battled back with a stand of 42.
But the collapse began when Ojha (29) hoisted Ali Murtaza to Malinga and Irfan Pathan, witlessly ran himself out first ball.
Malinga returned to bowl Rao for 25 and Morne Morkel two balls later, the intervening delivery breaking the South Africa paceman's bat.
Harbhajan had Umesh Yadav stumped off a wide and Malinga's five-wicket haul was complete when last man Ashok Dinda chipped to James Franklin at mid-off.
Mumbai lost Davy Jacobs with only one on the board but Tendulkar and Ambati Rayudu put on 30 before the latter was run out for 14.
Tendulkar pressed on in the company of Rohit Sharma, the pair accelerating towards the victory target as Sharma hit Morkel for two fours in the 12th over and Tendulkar lifted Roelof van der Merwe inside out over extra cover for six.
The winning boundary came off Pathan in the 17th over as the "Little Master" finished unbeaten on 46, with Sharma 27 not out.
