Just one-third of the way through the season, seven Arabian Gulf League clubs out of 14 – fully half of the league – have replaced their managers with new ones. Between the sackings and the interim coaches who have preceded permanent hires, 23 men have been in charge at one point or another of an AGL side this season. Since 2008/09, 104 coaching changes have been made in the league, 74 of which were made in-season. In all, 78 men have taken top positions with AGL clubs. No side has won a championship after a mid-season managerial switch.
Not pictured: Abdullah Ahmed Ali (Al Ain, interim after Jorge Fossati sacking and before Quique Sanchez Flores hiring); Jamsheer Muratocalo (Al Shaab, interm after Marius Sumudica sacking, no permanent coach yet hired); Saleem Abdulrahman (Al Wasl, interim after Laurent Banide sacking and before Hector Cuper hiring); Paulo Comelli (Eimrates, hired following Eid Baroot sacking).
