Vladimir Guerrero drove in four runs as the Los Angeles Angels clubbed the Chicago White Sox 13-3 in Cactus League action as preparations for the new MLB season, which starts next week, continued. Mike Napoli and Erick Aybar added solo homers on a dreadful day for the White Sox. Bartolo Colon allowed seven runs in four innings and Jose Contreras followed by allowing six runs in four innings.

Todd Helton went four-for-four and Brad Hawpe hit a three-run homer for Colorado. The Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs had an 8-8 draw in 10 innings on a high-scoring day in all the games.

Milton Bradley was the stand-out performer for the Cubs with four hits. The Oakland Athletics bettered the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-5 with Orlando Cabrera, Travis Buck and Chris Denorfia all driving in two runs apiece while Nomar Garciaparra homered. Prince Fielder and Casey McGehee hit two-run homers and Mike Lamb drove in three runs as the Milwaukee Brewers topped the Seattle Mariners 9-7, and David Murphy hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning to lead the Texas Rangers to a 7-5 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Taylor Teagarden, Andruw Jones and Justin Smoak had home runs for Texas while Juan Uribe and Jesus Guzman homered for the Giants. In the Grapefruit League, Oliver Perez had a decent six-plus innings on the mound for the New Jersey Mets, but he still allowed a run in a 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. * With agencies
