World number one Rory McIlroy is to take on 14-time Major winner Tiger Woods in a one-day matchplay 'duel' in China later this year.
The duo, two of the world's most famous golfers, will be the only competitors in the 18-hole Duel at Jinsha Lake, which will be held in Zhengzhou, capital of the central province of Henan, on October 29.
"It's an exciting concept and it will be a lot of fun going head to head with Tiger," said McIlroy.
"The Duel at Jinsha Lake will be the first time myself and Tiger have come together to play a 'one-off' match like this, so I'm really looking forward to it.
"I've always looked up to him as a player. What he's achieved in the game is remarkable."
The showdown — for which no prize money is up for grabs — will come just month after the pair feature in the Ryder Cup.
McIlroy returned to the top of the world rankings after winning last week's PGA Championship by eight strokes for his second Major title, having won last year's US Open by the same margin.
Woods, the world number three, has won three times this year and earned his 100th career worldwide victory, signalling he is getting closer to his best.

Canadians living in the UAE can register to vote online and be added to the International Register of Electors.
They'll then be sent a special ballot voting kit by mail either to their address, the Consulate General of Canada to the UAE in Dubai or The Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi

Tax authority targets shisha levy evasion
The Federal Tax Authority will track shisha imports with electronic markers to protect customers and ensure levies have been paid.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, director of the tax authority, on Sunday said the move is to "prevent tax evasion and support the authority’s tax collection efforts".
The scheme’s first phase, which came into effect on 1st January, 2019, covers all types of imported and domestically produced and distributed cigarettes. As of May 1, importing any type of cigarettes without the digital marks will be prohibited.
He said the latest phase will see imported and locally produced shisha tobacco tracked by the final quarter of this year.
"The FTA also maintains ongoing communication with concerned companies, to help them adapt their systems to meet our requirements and coordinate between all parties involved," he said.
As with cigarettes, shisha was hit with a 100 per cent tax in October 2017, though manufacturers and cafes absorbed some of the costs to prevent prices doubling.
